OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Encore Vocal Ensemble is San Diego’s go-to choral group for quality, entertaining performances of musical theatre at a great value. Through main stage and community performances, and a robust schedule of master classes, we are sharing our love of live performance with the San Diego region while expanding our capabilities as performers.
WHO WE ARE
Led by acclaimed Music Director Tim McKnight, Encore is recognized for its professional quality of performances and brings together a talented group of more than 50 singers, dancers, and actors who are looking to further improve their musicianship and give back to the community. Encore creates a safe space for singers of all backgrounds where diversity is celebrated and members support one another above all else.
Our Artistic Team

TIM MCKNIGHT,
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Tim McKnight has proudly served as Encore Vocal Ensemble’s Music/Artistic Director since 2012. Tim originally hails from the Midwest where he received his Bachelors in Music Education and his Masters in Accompanying & Vocal Coaching from the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign. Over the past 17 years, he has also served as the Director of Music at Chalice Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Escondido.
Tim is a private piano teacher, accompanist, vocal coach, and award-winning musical theatre director & conductor. He has received 3 National Youth Arts Awards for Outstanding Music Direction as well as 4 nominations for his work at J*Company Youth Theatre in La Jolla. In addition, Tim has had the honor of being the Music Director for the Broadway San Diego Awards since their inception in 2014.

AIMEE MEREDITH,
SHOW DIRECTOR
Aimee’ Meredith has helmed more than a dozen mainstage show with Encore. Her works with the group include “HAIR in Concert,” “The Murder Mystery Show,” “Hollywood Hits,” and Encore's "10th Anniversary Show." Aimee is a nationally recognized choreographer and dance instructor as well as a two-time Telly Award winning producer/director for the sketch comedy television show THE HOUSE. She also co-hosts the weekly podcast “The House of Pop Culture.”

MAGGIE SISSON,
ASSISTANT MUSIC DIRECTOR
Maggie Sisson hails to San Diego by way of Pittsburgh, PA where she most recently served as the Director of Choirs at Canon-McMillan High School. Maggie holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Duquesne University and a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Maggie has Directed and Choreographed countless theatrical productions during her career. Some of her favorites include “Children of Eden,” “Addams Family,” “Seussical,” “Godspell,” “Into the Woods,” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
In addition to her music background, Maggie has extensive training and experience dealing with students struggling with mental health, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic abuse, equity and inclusion within the classroom and the LGBTQ student population. She believes in music’s power to be all-inclusive, restorative, joyful, and transformative for every human being.
